Edward Ellabeg –
An incredible day out where we learned so much about Vietnamese culture and history.
Our tour guide was so friendly and had so much knowledge of everywhere we visited and was constantly telling us really interesting facts which added to the whole experience. The day started by picking us up from our hotel in a very comfortable and luxurious bus ahead of our 2-hour drive to Ninh Binh.
We started by cycling to a beautiful temple, which was our highlight because we loved cycling around the beautiful Vietnamese countryside. Afterward, we were brought by bus to a river cruise through the caves which was gorgeous. The women that paddle the boats are local and a little tip of a minimum of 25,000 dong per person is expected so make sure to bring cash (they also stop at a point and try to sell you things too).
We finished the day by hiking up 500 steps of the Lying Dragon mountain which was hard but worth it for the gorgeous view. For those that don’t want to climb, there is a beautiful area around the bottom to sit and have a drink while taking in the lush countryside.
Overall would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Hanoi and looking for a day away from the hustle and bustle!

Excellent place to visit, the tour guide was so friendly with us. He explained us so well any spots. Also, he helped me to take stunning photos.
I recommend Ninh Binh’s 1-day tour for new travelers to Vietnam.
